| 3643 | 1999-12-17 08:57:00 | My brother just bought a system from christchurch - and he lives in Dunedin... (silly huh) Anyway it cost him about $2000 all up and the specs are pretty good - if you need them for this problem i'll get them for you. Anyway he's running windows 98. Every so often he'll have a mouse freeze. (it happens in all sorts of different apps). When this happens - it's a good freeze - can't access keyboard - sp the three key salute doesn't work either. The only way out is to use the re-set button. Anoying really. This has happend from the day he got the system (yesterday). He rang their repair / problem number and they are mystified - their only response is to send it back - BUT if he did that - he wouldn't have his system back before xmas. Now if I remember right - other people have also experienced this same / almost the same problem. I think the answer was 're-install graphics card driver' or 'Pull back the accelerator a little'. Are these sugestions helpful or not ??? (He lives a little ways from me as well so it's not easy checking stuff at the moment). What I need to know - before I see him -is - what if anything I can look at... Also there are no conflics with his system IRQ's (or anything else that I can see) ??? Please help |
