3800 2000-01-14 22:44:00 I have a Matshita Intrena IDE LS-120 Super Disk drive (very Useful) in which I use both Imation and Maxell diskettes. Both mediums accept data okay but after a period(A few months)the Maxell disks fall over. Data cannot be read, the disks cannot be formatted or when Scandisked (when possible) show bad sectors. The strange thing is that when I use them on a friends external Imation LS-120 drive, there is no problem reading, formatting or Scandisking.(no bad sectors showing)Each time I try to read them on my drive the error message (this disk is not formatted, do you want to format it now?' constantly appears. I have not been able to find a direct contact on the Internet to the Matshita people but have contacted both the Imation and Maxell suppliers. There answer,(reasonably I suppose) is to use the disks that work.$200.00 of disks that don't work is not amusing.I have heard of other people who have experienced this same problem and I know personally of at least two for sure. They have not been able also to find a reason or solution. Maybe you folks at PC World or another reader can help us in some way. It would be very much appreciated. Many thanks and regards to all, Peter franklin. Guest (0)
