| 3829 | 2000-01-20 03:36:00 | The following problem has been with me since I purchased this computer a year ago.I have had to format and reinstall three times in the year. After the reinstall everything appears to be running fine. However after I start installing software sooner or later when I boot or reboot up pops a notice demanding my name and offering me the option of entering a password. It says if I don't enter a password I will not see the mesage again.(LIES) I type in 'jack'and hit enter and everything is ok.The next time my comp boots up comes the message again. If I don't enter my name but just hit enter booting continues and all is ok until I log on to the net.I find I have to re-enter my password and re-tick remember and connect automaticly. Three months ago I formated and reinstalled four times trying to find out what I was doing wrong. On the fourth try all was ok , yet I had done nothing differently. Now I've done it again and the notice is back. I have deleted *.pwl but that doesn't help. Now the only file is jack.pwl. When installing win98 I just entered the owners name as jack.So no arguements there. Anyone got any ideas? Jack Gruschow (gruschow@internet.co.nz) |
