I have installed a new CD Rom drive (MKEPanasonic 36x drive) which worked initially but it now tells me that 'E:\ is not accessable. Device is not ready'. I can see the E:\ drive in the My Computer window. When I put a CD in the drive the light in the front comes on but I cannot hear the motor start. The hard drive access light comes on for a about a minute and the PC locks up for the same amount of time. I'm sure that the problem isn't the drive because the old drive I had did the same thing which is why I replaced it.
I am running Windows 95 4.00.950 B on a Pentium 133. |
