1237265 2011-10-13 04:20:00 Hi All...Camera is Kodak Easy Share CX4200

Works ok with Digitor rechargeable batteries but not with standard Eveready heavy duty batteries. Why would this be. TIA PJ

1237272 2011-10-13 07:04:00 The probably can't supply enough power quickly enough. mikebartnz (21)
1237273 2011-10-13 07:08:00 Think its something to do with internal resistance in the non rechargeables (you cannot draw sufficient current to run the camera, whereas you can with the rechargeables (will discharge very rapidly if you short them out (which is why they warn you not to do that))). I used to own a small soldering iron powered by AA NiCad cells).
This is quite an old camera now (store.kodak.com), probably not very efficient in the battery department.
It may work if you use alkaline cells.

By the way, it's spelt query :p.

1237274 2011-10-13 07:17:00 PJ; Not sure if this answers your problem but some time ago I had a similar problem with SWMBO's Kodak camera.
It looked like it "Should" work with 2 AA cells so I tried standard AA's, heavy duty AA's and even Lithiums and Ni-cads. None worked.
Is yours one of the Ni-MH packs that looks like 2 AA cells joined together side by side? If it is you must use the correct Kodak part.
Standard Ni-MH's and Lithiums won't work. I think your camera takes a CXV3 pack.
