| 1237137 | 2011-10-12 21:25:00 | At his Stanford University commencement speech, Steve Jobs urges us to pursue our dreams and see the opportunities in life's setbacks -- including death itself. Here are some maxims he leaves us from this address of 2005: "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life." "Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other peoples' thinking." "Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become." How to live before you die (www.ted.com rce=newsletter_weekly_2011-10-11&utm_campaign=newsletter_weekly&utm_medium=email) |

(Twisted Sister has been always been one of my least listened to, least enjoyed "artistes") . :groan: The only thread I can see is the word "hungry . " Jobs at least structured an argument for staying "hungry" . While I personally am not a fan of Jobs, and have never even touched an Apple product, you can't deny his is a lasting legacy in this world . While some of his management techniques have been questionable see What everyone has been too polite to say . . . People have strong views on this iStuff and its users, the two camps are probably never going to even agree on the weather. Consider two islands: put equal raw materials on both, have one entirely populated with Apple fans, the other with non-believers. Which will succeed better long-term? |

"Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other peoples' thinking." Like Buy Apple products? "Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become" Right as above. |
