1237512 2011-10-14 23:39:00 I still think being able to arrange files in the order I prefer
to be the deciding factor that will keep me away from dumbed down Win 7

For some of us it is a major consideration.

Goodness! I stand corrected (actually I'm sitting) :)
Still a bit of mucking around, will probably wait till it's time to buy a new lappy.

1237515 2011-10-15 02:16:00 I use Win7 at home and love it.

I use XP SP3 at work (not my choice), hate it.

1237518 2011-10-15 03:38:00 Actually, once it has all the "features" disabled windows7 is not too different to XP, except it can't run as many programs, and it needs many times more computer power to do it, It's like dysentry in one respect - it's better than vista. :D R2x1 (4628)
1237519 2011-10-15 06:22:00 Truth be told, as soon as Adobe bring out Linux versions of their softwares... (yeah, right)
I will switch back to Linux Mint... it will be the equivalent of buying a new lappy! :banana

My ex has a laptop running Vista. In four years it has never given trouble, probably because she doesn't fiddle with it. Any trouble I have is usually self inflicted! As to "computer power" needs. I have W7 Ultimate (condensed) running on an Asus Eee701 which is faster than XP Sp3 on the same machine.
