I have been sent a present of two DVD's from a relative in Europe. They both came from the same shop. I expected them to both be the same region code but evidently they aren't. After being used by another member of the family, the DVD drive in the computer will of course only accept one of the regions. Murphy's Law (or one of it's corollaries) says that you will end up with the region you least want. Reinstalling the MPEG-2 decoder software, contacting the software supplier and re-installing the DVD driver have all produced the same outcome. Is there any way out of this mire or are we doomed to watch a DVD of Mary Poppins forever more? The hardware is Atapi 6X DVD-ROM, the software PowerDVD Ver 2.5 |
