| 4046 | 2000-02-19 20:42:00 | I always get the message 'Please wait while setup updates your configuration files' while booting. My system still works okay once it gets running. I damaged the registry by taking out what I thought was rubbish after uninstalling some software. The bits that I think did the damage are WexTech and AnswerWorks. Can anyone tell me what software that belongs to, and perhaps I can reinstall that. Unfortunately I do not have any registy backups that are recent enough to risk using. What is a good system for registry backups? Should it be done after every software change? Is it adequate to use the 2 .dat files, or do we have to also backup the dao files, if so how, as they are always totally invisible. My system is Intel AL440LX, Pentium 2x 300, 128mg ram, OS Windows 98 |
