| 4189 | 2000-03-08 09:10:00 | Here's the system, PIII 128MB Win (98 SE. When I shut down either by the keyboard or Start/Shutdown etc, I get one of two responses. Win 98 shits down very quickly and then I get a black screen saying ' Windows protection error, you need to restart Windows, hit any key.' When I hit any key, windows resumes the shutdown procedure as per normal. Second scenario is I get the black screen but nothing else. Computer does not switch off and I have to switch off at the wall plug to kill it. Thanks for any ideas, Pat |
