I've purchased a 17 Gig Seagate HDD which I have not partitioned (apart from the primary partition). Problem with this is that I can't run Scandisk or Defrag without getting an 'Out Of Memory' error. I've looked on the MS Knowledge Base and apparently it has to do with the cluster size being less than 8kb. I have tried changing the cluster size with Partition Magic, but it also runs out of memory part way through. Is there any other software I can use to change the cluster size, an alternate scandisk / defrag program (preferably freeware), or another solution for this problem? |
