Another import from Australia to NZ along with Oppussums Opposoms are protected in Australia but not in New Zealand Quite a few Americans seem to think NZ and Australia are connected by a bridge. |

| 4292 | 2007-11-29 18:04:00 | Quite a few Americans seem to think NZ and Australia are connected by a bridge. True. I had an email exchange with a American awhile back. When she found I was in NZ she told me that she had a friend in Sydney and maybe I knew him. So I told her Oz is a separate country and it takes 3 hours to fly there - but this was the wrong thing to say as she replied, completely unphased (unfazed?), that it takes that long to fly from NYC to LA. It seems many Americans have never looked at a world map or globe. |

They don't teach these things in school here any more...it Txtmsng For Graduation Credits, 5th Grade Childcare, Susie Has Two Mommies and Current Events Of Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt. Did you over allow for a headwind...as NZ to Aussieland seems a lot closer than that in GMaps. |

| 4294 | 2007-11-30 02:08:00 | "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport" when I visit this site. Thats fine if you hear it when visiting this site Joe, HOWEVER if you hear it when visiting Australia especially the outback, remember that song is the Australian equivalent of hearing the dualling Banjos in the deep south (of America, the deep south of NZ is full of intelligent witty people), so make sure you are wearing cast iron underwear and keep your back to the Gum tree, and don't whatever you do diss that song as it is one of Aussies greatest love songs. |

If there is an older question-answer period, give that person the award. Similar to total number of views for a thread. |

Did you over allow for a headwind...as NZ to Aussieland seems a lot closer than that in GMaps. isn't there some statistic floating around that 1 in 5 young americans (between 16 and 22 or something like that) can't even find the USA on a map of the world? according to memory, 3 hours from auckland to brisbane last time i flew in 2006... it's about 2200km away, at about 900km/h, so maybe 2.5 hours plus taxi and slow approach etc and then there's customs Some old socket 7 motherboards made by DFI used the UM66T melody IC to play tunes at you for certain errors instead of BIOS beeps. WHY I don't know - but I had a faulty one that did nothing but play tunes constantly www.dfiusa.com now i always thought that an alarm or something would do a better job of getting your attention... maybe they should make them deploy smoke or something? |
