HELP!!!! I have reinstalled Win 98 for the third time. I have formatted the drive as many times. The problem is after I have installed drivers for hardware, the system asks for a restart and then up pops MS Registry Checker instead of scandisc. This reloads the post Windows setup registry and all my hard work is lost. It dosent just happen on driver installs. MS Office 97 and HP 610c Printer software also had the same effect. I backed up the reg after installing all the hardware and office, and when the PC dropped the reg again, I installed that version and rebooted - all ok. But it is still dropping the reg. The PC may have had a virus, it did have Happy 99 but Norton and PC Cillan both say AOK for viruses. Please Help!!!!
