2012-03-05 22:36:00 | You mean the Galaxy Tab 2? I'm more interested in the next generation put out by Asus, like the Padfone...

2012-03-05 22:40:00 | I'm more excited by which toy Roly dog comes with the Purex toilet paper than the ipad 3. The likes of the Asus Transformer series and Acer Iconia Tab are, imo, much better in nearly every way. | inphinity (7274) | |
2012-03-05 23:05:00 | The Apple fans will be all going gaga - the best thing since the last apple gadget that costs an arm and a leg. ;) Wouldn't be getting one, I'd rather get a Android tablet. -- In fact its on the cards, and not a ASUS either ;)

2012-03-05 23:15:00 | Having switched from nokia to iPhone - and owning an Apple TV - I'll be looking at the iPad 3 and hopefully an Apple TV 3 that can deal with our 1080i Freeview (the current one hasn't enough video capabilities for it). 1 apple device in a household is negilable, but when you start pairing them up, they do work really well. I always thought I'd get an android tablet as I already had one IOS device....but the lack of standardisation, the fragmentation of the OS and even playing with a few in the store has put me off them. Also - on android - where can you legally (LEGALLY) get tv shows? In Apple land I can - no proxies required.

2012-03-06 09:30:00 | but the lack of standardisation, the fragmentation of the OS Fragmentation is a load of bullshit. It works fine for Windows, they dominate over 90% of the PC market, and you don't see PC software writers complaining? Lack of standardization? Again, I rest my case... Those are lame excuses and I'm over people using them. Stupid catch-phrases that are good to sell a story to the ignorant masses but hold bugger all actual weight. iOS is just as "fragmented". See iOS4 on an iPhone? or an iPhone 3G? No? What about the screen resolution, compare the iPhone vs the iPhone 4 vs the iPad vs the iPad 3's proposed resolution. Standardization? No. The tablet and the phone aren't even in the same bloody aspect ratio, how "non-standard" can you get?! On top of that, you're only allowed to view those shows if you're a citizen of the US, so again while you're paying for it, you're paying for the comfort of downloading through iTunes, not for the legality. Android is in the same boat in that respect.

2012-03-06 17:22:00 | Hardware accessory standardisation . Eg the use of the dock connector and air play (granted AirPlay could be allow and has been added to non apple devices . The android players need to standardise on a range of hardware connection for accessories for car stereos clocks, stereos etc . Re fragmentation I'm talking about carriers/handset makers not having ics on every device . The 3gs and up phones can still run ios5 - how many android phones brought out in the equivalent time period Can say the same? Without rooting (as you don't have to JB a 3GS to get ios 5 on it) I sayin for me I'd way to use the accessories I've already Invested in (car stereo, clock radio) and e able to load the latest and greatest os (within reason) to take advantage on the features . With android I may be able to do this if both phone and tablet were the same manufacturer but most likely not .
