1262133 2012-02-29 01:58:00 Trying to update to the latest version of Google Earth (6.1.0.5001) but cannot uninstall the old version (6.0.3.2197). I try with Windows 7s Programs and Features but get a note "Transform Package" so tried Revo Uninstaller, that gives me a note "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists" I can download the latest version but when I try to install it says "cannot find file msige60". Any ideas. jebby (4580)

1262135 2012-02-29 03:07:00 Thanks Lurking, that's what I did & ran into this problem, can't uninstall or install program. Just tried reinstalling old version on top of itself & get "Error 1305 C;\user\xxx\app data\local\temp\msige60\Google Earth.msi. Verify that the file exists & that you can access it" I follow the string & there are two Google Earth files, one is "Windows installer Package" the other "Application". Clicking on either of them just gives me the same note as above, going round in circles. jebby (4580)
1262136 2012-02-29 03:14:00 Try this. Go into All Programs find the Google Earth Folder open it then right click on the uninstall icon then select at the top run as administrator.

1262137 2012-02-29 03:15:00 You may have to delete its folder/s and entries in the registry to fix it. Look for google earth in the registry delete them. Then reboot, then try and install it again Speedy Gonzales (78)
1262138 2012-02-29 04:13:00 Thanks Trev, I tried that but it only brings up the same note again. Speedy, I am not game enough to start deleting in the registry, I've got a good idea what will happen. jebby (4580)
