1239044 2011-10-21 22:58:00 Does anyone know anywhere that i can get rid of a 1994 BMW 320i. It needs a warrant (needs 2 new tyres and a left shock replaced, quoted at $540 repair, incl tyres) Basically i want to get rid of it as is, and as soon as humanly possible. Fixed the mechanics reckon i could get 2,500 but at this point unfixed, i want to flick it off for like 1500 or so. It has dual airbags, 5 speed auto. Pretty good condition for its age. Has a CD player etc. Trademe or an auction wud get me best dollar, but i need it gone. as im moving overseas. Its done just over 200,00 KM (202,290). Any ideas where in Auckland i can get rid of it?

Cheers

1239045 2011-10-21 23:17:00 Take it to Turners. They have a 'damaged vehicles auction', I think this would qualify.

I seem to remember a vehicle auction place that would buy the car from you and then on-sell. Obviously they want to make money, so they would buy at a reduced rate, but it meant that you didn't have to piss fart around. You got your money then and there.

Can't for the life of me remember the name of it.

Could give it to someone to sell through auction perhaps.

1239047 2011-10-21 23:23:00 Oh you want $1500. When I read that title I thought that's easy - just park it unlocked. pctek (84)

1239049 2011-10-22 00:55:00 You may wanna drop the price and park it outside on a busy road and with a sale sign.

We had a look at Turners, they aren't cheap. Cannot recall the rates thou. I think it was a $200 min plus %. And, if it doesn't sell for whatever reason, there may be charges per attempt to sell. There is also diff rates for say no reserve to say, if you set a min price.

PS
Cars $55 (entry fee per auction), then.

No Reserve** = $205
$0-1999 = $250
$2000+ = $265 plus 5%

**No Reserve - for the $205 fee to apply, the car must be entered with No Reserve price in its first auction.
