| 1238074 | 2011-10-17 17:54:00 | Doesn't just happen in China, but that's really awful. They should all be charged, the first driver, the second driver!, the passersby. | pctek (84) | ||

Absolutely horrible, and yes, all those people are just as culpable, but are they: People are often frightened to get involved in situations like this. It only needs one person to take decisive action to save a life. Unfortunately people will pass by in the hope that someone else will resolve the situation. That's the essence, people being frightened to get involved. Those who do get involved, we hail as heroes, and like to think we'd do the same were we there. But would we? |

| 1238080 | 2011-10-17 21:54:00 | There are millions of people in China, this together with a history of oppression tends to make them wear 'blinkers' and concentrate on their own agendas to the exclusion of everything else around them. I have noticed this with Chinese that I know in New Zealand, they are fiercely protective of immediate family, but totally disinterested in others. They have very little general knowledge of China, outside their street. The concept of caring for your neighbor is a learning curve for them in New Zealand. | mzee (3324) | ||
