| 1238856 | 2011-10-21 03:58:00 | My reference to too much black and not enough white space is a hard one to explain. It all comes down to eye appeal. I used to have a publication that explained in detail, the proper/correct use of the black and white balance as it appeared on a printed page. Unfortunately, I no longer have that publication :( Try doing a Google search on page layout :) |

Note that the ads won't usually display on the staging site; you'll just see blank spaces where the ads should be. Username and password for the staging area are both 'pressf1', all in lowercase. |

Maybe consider moving the change log to a separate page. Make sure you include a date so viewers know the website/application is current and fresh. Example: Recent changes 16 October 2011 Added support for four new websites Various minor bug fixes View full change log details here |

Personally I like websites like that, as it follows with pretty much everything else. Windows Explorer, Nautilus, and other file explorer, most email clients... all the navigation etc is usually on the left. Can't speak for other people though. |

As mentioned, your title needs more contrast - maybe white font?I'll have a play around with the title image - I hadn't considered white, I'll give it a try and see what it looks like. Are the details in the change log from a single upgrade? No - I usually add one or two lines at a time, and usually announce major changes on Twitter as well. Maybe consider moving the change log to a separate page.Good idea. I didn't have this in the past because the old design couldn't handle long pages well, but the new one can, so... Make sure you include a date so viewers know the website/application is current and fresh. Are you suggesting a date for every change, or just the most recent one? |
