The text size is unrelated to the screen size; it doesn't change. the part which has recent changes, but as i said it only fills part of my screen, so............ i just find the page a bit boring........ :p does that help? hope its clear, :D beetle |

Also be aware that many people may not be viewing their monitor at an "optimal" viewing angle, which could make the lack of contrast even more noticeable. | Sherman (9181) | ||

Widescreen monitors are pretty much the norm these days, so not having to scroll down to see the rest of the content (as you must when a website designer forces the narrow version of a site on the end-user) is a bonus. I also like the menu on the right-hand side - most people are right-handed and the mouse seems naturally to drift in that direction anyway. Nothing wrong with brown as a theme colour - reminiscent of books bound in leather (though obviously ebooks aren't!!) Do you also have a mobile version in the works? |

The design is a fluid one; it changes to adapt to the current size of the browser window. Nobody seems to have raised any serious show-stoppers other than the header (and ironically, the new header still has better contrast than the old one!), so I've pushed the site live. I'll have a bit of a play with the header and see what I can come up with, then maybe tweak the rest of the palette a bit to match - could be a while though, that text took ages for me to do the first time round. Beetle - if you look at the live site here (http://www.flagfic.com/), do you still have the same issue with the font sizes? I've tweaked them a bit. Once again, many thanks to everyone who's contributed with feedback, it's been extremely helpful. |

Which URL are you browsing to? Did you click the mobile / full link in the footer at any stage? Hitting those links turns off automatic redirection for the current browser session. |

It's a fluid layout, it changes based on the width of the browser window to accommodate things like iPads (tablets account for a significant portion of my traffic). ...without ads...My preference is also without ads, however sadly the servers don't pay for themselves, and the site doesn't make enough in donation income that I could turn the ads off. If / when income gets above $250 US/month (which would pay for a good enough server to handle the load for hopefully the next year or so - the current servers barely cope), I'll turn the ads off at that point. ...and with the navigation on the left.
