1238164 2011-10-17 22:39:00 Is anyone (who is entitled ), not going to vote in the NZ Elections this year?

If not then why not?

1238165 2011-10-17 23:35:00 I'm sure there will be some who won't vote and then will spend the next 4 years moaning about who got in gary67 (56)
1238166 2011-10-17 23:37:00 At the moment there are 280,000 people who should register to vote but have not yet done so. Snorkbox (15764)
1238167 2011-10-17 23:50:00 We will always have a percentage of people who cannot be bothered to vote. I will be voting. Bobh (5192)
1238168 2011-10-18 00:08:00 To answer that contravenes my civil rights, as well as everyone else.

Lurking.

1238169 2011-10-18 00:14:00 I was going to vote National again but i dont agree with the selling of the assets... and that leaves no one else to vote for....so am thinking about not voting Gobe1 (6290)
1238170 2011-10-18 00:15:00 I will always vote - I know a lot of people my age (young twenties) who don't, I think mostly because they can't be bothered, and party cause they think none of the parties are ideal to have in parliament. Surely the lesser of two evils (national anyone) :p is better, so IMO it still makes sense to vote. Or even to vote for a minority party.

I look at it pretty simply - we have the opportunity to influence how the country is run. if you don't want to have your say there, that's totally fine, but don't bloody whinge about it when the greens don't get in, and you can't smoke pot legally. :2cents: :D

1238171 2011-10-18 00:55:00 Meh, I don't think I'll vote this year. I can't agree with anyone's policies.
I will probably go to vote on the referendum, though.

I can see Goff very weak man, I don't want him to be PM. Raising minimum wage will lead this country to ruin.
ACT is a joke.
Greens are an even bigger joke, that will destroy us all with their tree hugging taxes.
I sure as hell won't vote of the Maori party, out of principle.

And lastly Libertarianz, I'd vote for them. But they want to make P legal, so that's a no, too.

And National... They are a bunch of liars. Didn't they promise no GTS raise?

Then there's Hone and Winnie, but then again they are Hone and Winnie.

1238172 2011-10-18 01:23:00 If, instead of voting for one of the offerings put forward by the political parties, it was possible to vote against the ones that have been incompetent, unreliable or in any other way acted as a typical party hack, we could probably fund the next world cup in tiddly-winks with the proceeds from leasing the empty sections of the beehive.
Alternatively, pay the politicians according to what they actually achieve for the people employing them, and we would probably only have a couple of politicians standing - that seems good :D

1238173 2011-10-18 01:26:00 You can start your own Party. Too late now though. Snorkbox (15764)
