| 4516 | 2000-04-19 20:53:00 | The following message occurs I try to install new software via CD ROM. 'A fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:C002CCAA in VXD VCACHE(01)+000003E2'. It is necessary to switch off the PC to recover from this problem. It seems to occur late in the installation process. The PC is a Compaq Deskpro 2000. The problem arose form a difficulty with getting Dial up networking to run after upgrading from IE4 to IE5. At this point a full re-installation of W95 was recommended and as the PC had a small hard drive I decided to install a new 6.4GB disk. This has proved to be a difficult process although I do now have W95 and the CD drivers installed. The PC has the latest BIOS that supports large hard drives. Many thanks. |
