| 4549 | 2000-04-24 13:11:00 | I have been lured into the world of Free Internet services, and have set up several dial up connections. The problem I am having is that when I connect using Freenet I find the pages are painfully slow to load, if at all. Sometimes the page does load, but it is an earlier version, an example is the Press F1 page shows postings dated 7 April, and refreshing the page has no effect. When connected with Xtra, the connection is quick, and the pages load quickly. I have checked my DUN settings and they all seem the same, with the correct checkmarks in the boxes. ZFree does not have the same sort of problems with loading a current page, but it is slower than Xtra as well. I have not completly set up an I4Free connection as it made too many changes to my registry etc for my liking. Does anyone have any suggestions or have experienced the same problems with Freenet? Thanks, Matt |
