4674 2000-05-07 10:12:00 I appreciate that you will probably be very busy with the vbs. virus right now, but I hope you may be able to help with my query. Upon the announcement of the 'loveletter' virus I updated (on the 5th May) my virus signature files (Norton & Trend) and ran my antivirus software which informed me that I had not been infected with any virus'. The following morning my daughter could not access her Hotmail account because cookies and scripting had been disabled. She enabled them through 'tools, internet options' in I.E.5 and was able to access her account, but could not save or move any messages because 'current security options do not support html'.
I had active desktop enabled and upon opening some folders I received the message 'An activex control on this page is not safe. Your current security settings prohibit running unsafe controls on this page. As a result this page may not display as intended'.
I have changed my security settings up and down and yet still receive this message.
More importantly, I cannot now drag and drop, cut, copy or paste files between folders.
Everything else seems to be functioning O.K. so far. Am I going to have to do a full re-install of windows to fix this problem? I hope that you may be able to advise me otherwise. Thanks in advance for your help.
