| 4723 | 2000-05-13 04:31:00 | I've just done the upgrade of IE5 to IE5.01 from the PC World free CD (thanks, PC World!) I had a little bit of troube, as the setup file that the PC World CD said should be in a certain folder ('cdsetup.exe' under the 'ie501' folder), wasn't ... but I found the file 'iecd' in the folder 'bin' which seemed to do the trick. On finishing and rebooting, I have opened up IE and looked at 'About Internet explorer' under the Help tab to check the version number. I had thought this would show that I now had version 5.01, but it still tells me that I have version 5.00.2919.6307IC I can't see any other obvious changes to IE5's interface, either, although there was a welcome to Outlook express 5 message in my Inbox, and a new MSN icon in my Favourites. Does this mean that my install of 5.01 was unsuccessful? |
