| 4834 | 2000-05-23 05:30:00 | I want to use a Panasonic KX-P1121 24 pin printer with a 486 machine using Win3.1. It works OK using a Plain Text driver and setting fonts from the 3 or 4 options on the printer control panel, but can't handle Win fonts with what should be the right driver, Epson LQ-850. The lines get the the tops sawn off them and spaces dropped in between the parts. I went looking for fresh drivers but found--- Panasonic.com drivers list says 'There are no Win 3.1 drivers for this model. Your printer will work with the Epson LQ-850 Emulation.' Epson.com driver list says ' LQ-850 driver no longer available. The printer is set to Epson LQ-850 by default. There IS a KX-P1121 driver for Win 98 and I installed that on a wWin 98 machine and the test sheet came out with the lines sawn lengthwise and line spaces between the bits. I'm sure that we got quite good results with Win fonts years ago. Am I missing something or is the printer kaput!! Thanks for any help. |
