| 4949 | 2000-06-04 03:39:00 | When trying to format a CD-RW disk so that explorer and MS Office programmes are able to write direct to the disk the following happens: I follow the instructions in the Direct CD Wizard to the end; the disk begins to format (for about 1 second) then the following error message appears: ERROR: FORMAT UNIT ERROR: 0x8040803 Follwed by the comment: You will not be able to read and write to the disk through drive access. After one or two tries the system locks up. I have checked the Adaptec website for info without success and installed updates and patches available. Any help with this problem would be appreciated.
