1264031 2012-03-10 02:00:00 Am wanting to move my data from Outlook 97 to a new computer with Outlook 2010. Have read so many conflictingmethods!
Is it ok to just copy the .pst backup file to the new PC and then just import it into 2010?
Thanks

1264033 2012-03-10 02:29:00 Don't forget to import the archive file if you have one. Greven (91)
1264034 2012-03-11 00:22:00 OK have managed to transfer my .pst file to the new PC and all the items show up but cannot for some reason get mail (all the email accounts test out fine).
Any ideas?!
Thanks

1264035 2012-03-11 01:41:00 It is ok - after about 2 hours of stuffing round found that Outlook 2010 has other "In" boxes!
Am going to write a blog about the 4 days of hell have had (so far) of setting up this new (AND LAST) PC!!!

1264036 2012-03-11 02:25:00 I take it you have multiple email accounts? By default Outlook 2010 creates separate data files for each email account (brilliant idea I thought) but you can configure it to dump everything into a single PST file.

If your accounts are with Yahoo (Xtra) or Gmail, I recommend using IMAP instead of POP3.
