1239987 2011-10-26 03:13:00 Always advice about backing up hard drives for data, but maybe not for hard drives themselves, unless they have an alternative manufacturing facility or can contract out. kahawai chaser (3545)
1239988 2011-10-26 03:39:00 Norton's Acme disk dry will fix all that. Made for wetness sake. R2x1 (4628)
1239989 2011-10-26 03:45:00 Yea looks like 500GB HDDs have gone up about $30 already from the distributors.
1TB about $50.

1239991 2011-10-26 03:54:00 I didn't know Toshiba made their own HDDs. I thought they just used crap Hitachi drives.... johcar (6283)
1239992 2011-10-26 03:54:00 Toshiba actually make a ton of drives, they are like gorse bushes, popping up everywhere. The ones in Adata enclosures I've seen have a 3 year warranty too. wratterus (105)
1239993 2011-10-26 03:56:00 The only drives that have failed on me in the last ten years have been Hitachi drives inside Toshiba lappies.... Replaced immediately with Seagate drives and never another problem. johcar (6283)
