| 1239848 | 2011-10-25 15:20:00 | Arianna Huffington: I was in Spain on October 15th when half a million took to the streets of Madrid to voice their frustration with a political system that has failed the people of Spain -- in the same way our own "Los Indignados" (Spanish for "The Outraged") are voicing their anger and frustration at a system that has failed the "99 percent" here in America . I was struck by how family-oriented the protests were . But when I looked at how the media covered them, instead of the thousands of families and children and retirees who marched in towns all across Spain, what dominated the airwaves were burning cars from the protest in Rome -- which was hijacked by a coterie of masked anarchists . Just as solutions to the problems facing Europe and America are not going to be found in traditional political ways, the truth of what's happening is not going to be found in traditional media coverage either . This groundswell seems to be more like rolling thunder all over the place, and YES - the press is just showing the outlaws in the groups who commandeer the cameras with their destructive antics . Or at least Germinal by Emil Zola . The US has a lot on the line if all the militant splinter groups ever get together and singly go after the single-most destructive device in the gummermint: politicians . The press, as a dupe of the gvt has to keep this from exploding and becoming a common-threat as finally perceived by the trench dwellers, so whipping boys are found and shown as anarchists-radicals and scoffed at for the sake of crowd control . Remember that the US is actually under martial law with the Homeland Security Act - but if the general population even somewhat hears about it - or finally actually realizes it - then the fat's in the fire . . . . . . My prophecy? The gvts will go after the biggest of the fatted cows: the churches . The plunder will be great (as in size and effect, both) . |
