PS there is far less reliance on iTunes with iOS 5 out now.

1240082 2011-10-27 08:17:00 The only iPhone on the NZ Apple site has 8 Gb. Is there somewhere else it can be purchased? I assume ordering from other countries would be a no go as it would be locked to that country's phone companies.

Vodafone have 16GB and 32GB

Odd, when I bought mine the only options were 16gb and 32gb for the iphone 4. I believe the 3GS had an 8gb model.

1240084 2011-10-27 10:09:00 Yeah the 8 came out when the 4S did. So the 3G-S becomes the "Budget" iPhone, 4 is mid, and 4S premium. Alex B (15479)
1240085 2011-10-27 17:06:00 alex, darkstar, safari - Thanks for the extra info.

My friend is with Telecom and will stay with them.

1240086 2011-10-27 22:14:00 bro has a htc wildfire the android app does not work for us re voice command but the google translate works well. u can speak to it and it will covert words into another language and it talks back to you in that language. needs a live connection though. not sure about the voice command app thou.

Live as in an internet connection? Hmmmmn... I had thought the translation application was stand-alone.

Does the iPhone4 need an internet connection for translation also?

1240087 2011-10-27 23:59:00 One advantage of an iPhone seems to be that it can easy 'dock' with an external speaker system.

With the Galaxy SII, how is this done - with an adapter cable?

... and to repeat my question from above: Do both the iPhone4 and Galxy need an internet connection for speech to text/speech?

No entire world languages are contained within.

I'd assume so.
