However, I do not see the skill levels and tenacity the ABs played with prior to '87, going back through the 50s,60s and 70s. Any thought of playing agaist them in those days would mean a change of underpants for most prospective teams. The AB's did not play as they did last week against Oz - they were like another team. Hate to say it but they choked and almost lost. The French did play better in the final but they were sloppy in previous games leading up to the final whereas the AB's were brilliant overall in the lead-up and imo certainly deserved to win when all things are considered. The guy who said this game was "in the Bag" for the ABs is on another planet. +1 Husband said it was pathetic, he said the French played a better game and had the ball mostly. I would not rate the AB's as pathetic in that game but they surely struggled against an extremely determined French team. It was not pretty to watch, that is for sure. Lucky I now feel like utter crap and have a huge day ahead of me. Go the Blacks, This wasn't just a single game, they won the tournament, and they would destroy any team from the 50's,60's,70's or 80's for that matter. Pathetic?....what a retarded comment to make about the champs. The final should show people just how damn hard it is to win at that level. Respect to the French. Carter would have made this a different game ... :thumbs: People have raved on about Weepu but he missed too many kicks in the semi and the final.
