2011-10-24 22:32:00 | If that happened to me I'd be in deep trouble, doors are solid timber and the window has security stays. On top of that it opens inwards so I couldn't kick it open either. Suddenly you've got me paranoid about getting locked in the dunny. | dugimodo (138) | |

2011-10-25 03:16:00 | I can't understand the need for a lock on any interior door in the house. When we bought our house I removed the sliding bolts on the toilet and the bathroom doors. We have had our daughter lock herself in a public toilet and she was unable to unlock it. Luckily the mall owner had a handyman who came to our rescue. I reasoned that if that could happen in a public toilet it might also happen at home, so I removed all locks. The system we employed - for privacy - was that when the door was closed the toilet or bathroom was in use - when the door was open the room was free. It is a simple and very effective system with no need for locks. Pctec: Removing the locks was a very sensible decision. You might consider using our system for privacy. We never had any problems at all.:)

2011-10-25 06:27:00 | I've locked myself out of my gym locker before. All I had on was a (small) towel. That was embarrassing. I was quite happy to pay whatever to a locksmith, but luckily some bolt cutters were eventually located. Free tip: Don't use a key padlock on your gym locker and then hold the key in your hand whilst in the sauna ...

It would have been pretty bad if she lived alone! Cheers Billy 8-{) Sounds like a drill could have been useful. With some door handles they can be released by a slot underneath them and then attacked with a screw driver or some such thing. |

2011-10-25 09:11:00 | This is why I have a set of lock picks. Handy little things they are. Only got a small bolt-type lock on the loo door, not much to go wrong there, if it does just pass a claw hammer (or, you know, small screwdriver, whatever) through and Bob's your uncle. Aside from that, the only other indoor lock is the one between the hallway and laundry (which leads to the back door too). House came with 'em already installed, and it makes sense as the gun safe is in the laundry too, so it's usually locked from both doors (and the back door can only be unlocked from the inside).
