1264081 2012-03-11 00:18:00 Could just be dying mice.
I had two OCZ branded mice, both had lasers and both died within a month. The lights were nice but not being able to aim mid way through a game of counterstrike was kind of annoying. Especially when my aim sucks anyway.

I hope no animals were hurt during the dying of these mice :devil

1264085 2012-03-11 21:23:00 OK so I figured it out.

Basically the wireless mouse wasn't pairing correctly, so it wasn't working, and the other mouse was an A4Tech X7 mouse ( pbtech.co.nz ) and it has this little doohickey thingy underneath it that detects when the mouse is on the desk and when it isn't, and if it isn't then it doesn't move the cursor (Coz it presumes you're lifting the mouse during gaming because your desk is too small). So I added some extra padding (They come with several little sticky dots as padding) and that works again. Dunno what was up with the cordless microsoft mouse, but after plugging it in to another machine, trying and failing, then plugging it back in to the original, it now works too :D

Crisis averted :D

1264086 2012-03-11 21:25:00 So the same fault on two different mice for two different reasons at the same time... what are the odds! dugimodo (138)

Crisis averted :DNow, after reading your post I have just managed to fix a problem I have had for the last few days. Ours started off with the mouse not highlighting when hovering over something to random drag and drops

1264089 2012-03-12 19:20:00 That's what I found too with a wireless mouse. If the mouse isn't in close proximity to the receiver (and line of sight) you get problems. The manual says about a meter but mine is about 100cms. Bryan (147)
