1264342 2012-03-11 20:13:00 It keeps crashing and running some form of system checker on reboot.

It won't let me open MSSE.

I wonder if it has something to do with Chrome - anybody else using Chrome and having problems?

Is there a repair option on the windows 7 disc?

1264343 2012-03-11 20:20:00 Might help, if you tell us what the BSOD says. And if it shows the name of a file or driver. Is Chrome the latest version? 17.0.963.79? If youre using this version? Speedy Gonzales (78)

1264346 2012-03-11 20:34:00 It also keeps freezing as in no HDD activity. I've updated all the drivers I can find.

I'm wondering if Chrome may have become corrupted but I'm also wondering if I'm fixated on something.

1264347 2012-03-11 20:37:00 Try looking in the log files, it may give a hint as to whats crashing, to do this:

Click Start, type in reli select View reliability history from the result, when it opens there should be error icons in the graph, usually a red circle with a white X , click one at the time it crashed, below in the reports will be whats possibly happened.

1264348 2012-03-11 21:08:00 Delete chrome if you can, if it's bothering you,it is constantly trying to sneak in, so you will get back soon, like it or not. Cicero (40)
1264349 2012-03-11 21:23:00 When it is running can you access your programs ok? there is malware around that masquerades as a system checker type tool that blocks access to basically everything while telling you that you have all kinds of infections and trying to extort money to remove them. dugimodo (138)

Looks to be an NVIDIA file daemonu. There is no uninstaller - can I just delete it from Windows Explorer?

1264351 2012-03-11 21:37:00 BTW how can I change the amount of hard drive space used by system restore so that I can have earlier restore points? Chris Randal (521)
