I am trying to send a four-character control sequence out of the serial port of a notebook (to control a data projector). If I fire up Hyperterminal and type the characters in manually, they work fine. If I try something like 'echo 00av > com1' or 'copy mute.txt com1' all I get out of com1 is a null character. (My autoexec.bat contains 'mode com1: baud=9600 parity=n data=8 stop=1 retry=n' to set the configuration up, and I am using an adaptor which loops cts/rts and dsr/dtr/dcd). Is there any other method of sending the data out the serial port? |
