| 5067 | 2000-06-11 08:52:00 | I've created myself a database of all my Japanese anime/manga video's in Excel. Each row has an exact running time for each episode. There are approximately 1500 entries (1 for each episode). Unfortunately I've run into a problem. I haven't figured out a way of calculating the total time for all the entries. I've so far only managed to calculate totals if the seconds ranged from 0-99 instead of 0-59, and the total as a decimal. I've stored the running time as as <mm>:<ss>, or <mmm>:<s> if there are more then 99 minutes (keeping the cell length to five characters is important). Where m (minutes) range from 00 to 999 and s (seconds) range from 00 to 59. A formula that outputs the total in the format <ww>:<d>:<hh>:<mm>:<ss> (and of course not stored as a date!) or similar would be ideal. Each cell is currently formated as text, because of lack of better way of number formatting. (Excel really wants each entry to be a date!). Any help greatly appretiated. (software used: Excel 2000). |
