| 5100 | 2000-06-14 08:05:00 | I recently had a problem with my PC regarding a new CD-ROM drive I attempted to install. I've had it professionally fitted now, but I'd like to know what was causing it. When I started up with the CD drive installed, part of the screen I started up with read: 'Fixed disk 0: None Fixed disk 1: None Fixed disk 2: None Fixed disk 3: None Insert Boot diskette in drive A: and press <ENTER> to restart...' It hadn't seemed to detect the hard drive, or the CD drive. When I took it to the shop, they said that the drives were clashing (both master or both slave), but that wouldn't be right, because I tried all the settings n the CD drive - Even CS! Also, I'd like to know what CS is for. |
