I have a Cyrix300 with 128Mb RAM, 4Gb HDD over 4 partitions, O/S is Win95b. Recently, my system has begun locking up on a regular basis. The ratio is 10 secs runnning OK, 4 secs lock up (continuously). My Swapfile is on the drive with the most free space (E: 800Mb). It's set to Min and Max of 128Mb. When my machine locks up, everything stops for about 4 secs. The HDD is inactive during those times. My Video GA card has 32Mb RAM on board, so I should have resources to burn. I've re-booted many times, no luck. I'm very pro-active with Defrags and other maintenance (I use Nortons SystemWorks 2000). Is there anything I've missed, short of formatting and reloading my O/S? |
