I have come across a mysterious problem. When the computer is turned on the power supply fan and the hard drive whirr, and then the hard drive led goes out, but thats as far as it gets. There isn't even anything coming up on the screen indicating a problem. A friend suggested it may be the power supply, so I put one from another computer in and it does the same thing. I've also tried a different monitor, new power cables, and checked all the internal cables to hard drive etc connected correctly. I also checked the ram simms are seated correctly in the motherboard. This started as an intermittant problem but now will not work at all. I'm assuming it's a hardware fault as the machine isn't completing the fast post. Any ideas would be appreciated. |
