5273 2000-06-29 01:50:00 I have a new Packard Bell Multimedia 650 PC. I transferred the stuff off the hard drive of my old PC by using an external CD writer and CD-RW discs. I reinstalled programmes from various discs. It all seems to work OK. However at some stage early in the piece I began to get momentary flashes of the screen going into 'negative' colours. I can effect this by typing something in Word 2000 and clicking the X which results in the momentary change at the same time as the 'do you wish to save' dialog box comes up. The same thing happens usually in association with dialog boxes in a whole range of other programmes, not just Microsoft. After each occurrence everything appears to be quite normal. The PB Help Desk plus an experienced technician (who makes home visits!!)have helped me through various steps or adjusted settings under Display Properties Advanced and PB master discs without success. The suggestion is to use the suppled master discs and start again from scratch. As I am no expert, installing all the 'old' stuff plus Internet and email etc is a very slow job which I really don't wish to repeat. Is there some kind person out there who might have a solution to getting rid of the 'negative' display without having to take this drastic step?
Thanks for all help.
