I have friends over seas I like to sent photographs. However the files seem to be too big and take too long to download for people accessing the net through cyber shops. I save my photos as JPEG files. With large photos I first reduce them in size to reduce the file size as much as possible. I notice when copying photos of Web sites such as the sports pages that the file size of these photos is much smaller than my own even though the photos are about the same size. It would seem that my software is not compressing the files enough. HARDWARE: I use an Epson 610 scanner with Twain scanning software. I have scanned as low as 75dpi with similar results. I scan into Adobe PhotoDeluxe home edition 3.0. I am about to upgrade to version 4.0. My computer is a 600Hhz Pentium III with 128Mg of RAM and heaps of disk space. Regards Wyevern Price |
