Is there any way around the SR problem? I have 2 PC's networked, a P300 running Win98 and a P133 with Win95, both with 128 meg ram. I recently tried Adobe Go Live and found my main PC reduced to 40% SR immediately and will stick with Dreamweaver which leaves me 68%. Programs vary enormously in their hunger, eg IE5 is good, Word is terrible and doesn't return it all when it's turned off. I usually reboot about every 2 hours when working with my usual suite of software open even when spread across both PCs.
Is there any way around this problem apart from buying a PC for each task? Will Linux be the answer? |
