5383 2000-07-07 05:41:00 We run a LAN with 5 PCs and an HP printer under Windows 98. One machine (it varies which one but at the moment it's mine) will start to suffer extremely slow service on the network while all other machines run fine (example - 10 minutes to copy a 4Mb file from the machine we call the server to my own C drive).
Going to Settings/Network and changing my IP address sometimes fixes the problem for a while, sometimes it doesn't. All the applications that use network files on my machine are affected (including WordPerfect & commands from the DOS prompt) and nobody else on the network suffers.

We've had a consultant check out all our network settings and got a clean bill of health but no improvement.

My PC is an Ultra Pentium II 233 with 64Mb of memory & a 4Gb hard drive. The server is a TPG, same spec. LAN runs through a hub and all LAN addresses are in the same range.
