| 5478 | 2000-07-14 06:28:00 | Hi - I have two queries please.. 1) In MS Config utitility - is it possible to delete entries under the startup tab? I have loaded heaps of proggies that all add to the list, and unchecking them stops items auto-loading at startup, but the list is pretty long now and would like to get rid of most items. 2) I have a mysterious startup .exe item in that list (immediately unchecked when I saw it) that I have no idea of it's function. Cannot recall what I installed prior to my noticing it. I tracked the file itself (C:\Windows) and attempted to run it manually but it appeared to perform no function. Does anyone recognise it? The name it has is load= and the prog it refers to is ptsnoop.exe. The name of the prog itself is enough to give me shivers. I run a pretty decent anti-v program that does not detect anything amiss, and my trojan detect skills are at least adequate. Puter is Intel P2350, Win 98 1st ed. |
