1241404 2011-11-02 06:31:00 So, watching Campbell Live, I saw this chick saying basically "I'm on the benefit cause I have a kid, and I got another one on the way" - yeah?
You can't afford on damn kid and you are breeding like a bunny?
And we are supposed to pay for your life?

"You don't want someone taking care of your kid for the first three years" - yeah?
Maybe you should get an damn abortion. Save the taxpayer some money, and your future kid a terrible life because clearly you are incapable of providing for them.

Another one: "I have kids, so I can't really work. I got no education cause I dropped out of college after two years. I got no skillz."

So basically, you can't do bugger all, except reproduce. Clearly you are a winner.

WHY DO THESE IDIOTS CHOSE TO HAVE KIDS WHEN THEY CAN'T EVEN SUPPORT THEMSELVES?

And that woman at the beginning who took a minute to answer a simple question "Would you rather be on the benefit?"
Yeah, we know your real answer. WINNING!

A life time on the benefit and do we somehow expect these people will ever do anything?

1241405 2011-11-02 18:21:00 Yeah, this has been a favourite rant of mine for some time.

Most of the people on benefits for their kids didn't necessarily plan kids. The problem is more that they failed to plan contraception.

Sadly, these people who are almost too hopeless for jobs are also too hopeless to be trusted with their own contraception.

A century ago it was very common to have 8 or more kids to a family. There was no benefit. Everyone somehow got clothed and fed.

These days a responsible family is maxed out at 4 kids, struggling on a good income to afford any more, yet the DPB is supporting others while they produce families way out of proportion to anything responsible or affordable... and the suffering responsible folk are expected to pay for every casual fornication that a careless beneficiary has.

It's dangerous territory politically, ethically, socially, but you cannot expect workers to pay, pay and pay for the incompetence, stupidity and carelessness of others.
At some point in time you need to start tightening the screws on beneficiaries behaviours and waste of resorces (ie NZ's money) Every bludging mouth added to the pool means that much less money available to fund a decent education for everyone. It all takes its toll, on ALL of us (beneficiaries included) one way or another.

Beneficiaries need to face reduced payments for further children, or accept enforced contraception / sterilisation if they wish to continue a lifetime on the bludge. Those that cannot pay their own way should not be permitted to increase their own welfare burden, whether that be by breeding, gambling, sheer stupidity, or stuffing their faces to the point of unhealthy obesity.

Obviously peoples circumstances can improve, so any enforced contraception needs to be reversible (or temporary).
However, those that are too mentally immature to care for others, too irresponsible, or with a clear criminal history should face enforced, permanent sterilization. Do the same for those that sexually offend or repeatedly violently offend.

The welfare system as it has been has only served to cripple the countrys wealth and breed entrenched generations of beneficiaries who are unfit for anything else than bludging.

The accommodation grants have only served to boost income for the wealthy who rent properties (and push up house prices).
Benefits should have a portion in the equivalent of 'food stamps', which cannot be used to by TVs, stereos, iPods, CDs, booze, smokes, pokies, and cannot be sspent (ie traded) between anyone other than the beneficiary and approved retailers (to avoid a black market trade/exchange of the stamps).

Rant over.

1241406 2011-11-02 18:31:00 I think the solution is not to give the dpb to any non-married people in the first place.

If they have a child and they are not married, then their family will have to support them or they will have to adopt the child out.

(and now those solo mums will now have guys hanging round them hoping to hook up with them so they can move in to their state provided house so they can live on the dole!)

1241408 2011-11-02 19:44:00 To my knowledge there haven't been any virgin births in over 2000 years. The finger always seems to point at the female. I wonder why.

Yes, it does infuriate me that there are some people have grown into an adult body (I won't say grown up) thinking it is quite alright to have a child without any thought as to who might be picking up the tab for their chosen lifestyle.

In a job I once had I often heard "I will pay on my payday or that of my girlfriend". It is totally sickening. His and her payday were courtesy of the hard working taxpayer.

.
I don't think it's the finger that is pointing, hence the virgin birth!(Virgin indeed)

Because a man can't get a woman to have an abortion.

1241412 2011-11-02 22:57:00 And the situation where guy leaves, woman does what?

ALways the attention is on the few - yes, few - who use the system wrongly.
The majority don't but are lumped in with those few.

John Keys mum, Paula Bennett herself - nasty bludgers getting govt money for kids..........should have been shot instead.
