| 1241324 | 2011-11-01 21:01:00 | I had a cataract removed from the right eye, cost me $3,800.00, but the result is 20/20 vision so was worth it. The left eye is not bad enough to justify surgery yet, so I need a plain lens for the right eye, if only to stop people telling me that I have lost a lens! I had my Polaroids done by 'Spec-savers' who not only charged $145 for it but had to send them to Australia. Does anyone know where I would be able to get plain lenses fitted to my frames locally at a reasonable price? |

| 1241325 | 2011-11-01 23:24:00 | Not sure where you get a plain lens - any optician? Use your prescription and get a new spare pair from Zennioptical.com I'm due surgery in a month following a retinal detachment - oil removal and cataract. |

| 1241326 | 2011-11-02 06:07:00 | The jargon terms "plano single vision lens" may help you explain what you're after. Plano means zero power... but costs as much as any other lens, as it must be optically machined, polished and cut just like any other lens. I'd just shop around. It would help the store staff if they could examine your frame before committing to a price. If the lens over the left eye is fairly strong there is a danger of experiencing double vision and or depth perception issues when one lens is strong and the other is weak. Nothing is ever simple with lenses. |
