1240418 2011-10-30 18:37:00 1 460 on medium, that's about what I was getting during the beta. icow (15313)
1240419 2011-10-30 19:44:00 Picked it up on friday, played a bit over the weekend. Performs well on my PC, but I can't get over the mediocre graphics (even @1920x1080 with everything set to High), sluggish controls (or specifically lack of ability to customise some of them), a lot of servers are really laggy even when ping is OK, and holy **** it's just an ADHD spamfest. To be fair I've been gone form the BF series since BF1943, so maybe part of why I've disliked it so much, but to me it just doesn't evoke the epic feel or the quality gameplay of 1942, BF2 etc. It feels rushed out the door for the sake of $$$ release. I don't anticipate playing an awful lot more of it, to be honest.

Oh, and the campaign is retardedly short if you care about that.

Overall I'd give the game 2.5 - 3 out of 5. Earlier games in the series were better imo.

1240420 2011-10-31 04:10:00 Well you are trying to run it on high with a single 460GTX which doesn't even quite make the recommended. Maybe that's why the game feels sluggish. I'd expect a single 460 to put out a pathetic framerate at 1080 on high. Some of the servers aren't laggy which would suggest that it could be a server side problem. Yeah my impressions from the beta were the net code sucks but I don't really see it as a problem for dice or ea if you can get on servers which dont suck. icow (15313)
1240421 2011-10-31 04:44:00 Damn it,Seems I have the same problem and The Warehouse want nothing to do with it.I've emailed EA but no reply yet. sk69ersnz (13476)
1240422 2011-10-31 05:26:00 It's the warehouse's problem, just go in there and quote the CGA. I ordered from Mighty Ape and they are dealing with it. Netsukeninja (13296)

Seems to be a wide spread problem. I'd say their inbox is pretty full atm.

Single player is fine, and even multiplayer when its sluggy I am getting around 40fps. It seems to be server specific, and it feels like latency / packet loss issue. Overall it seems to be a buggy, unpolished game that is overly-reliant on HDR & Bloom effects to hide their mediocre graphics work and banking on the franchise name instead of a good game to pull in punters. Oh well.

1240426 2011-11-01 02:18:00 I have a 460gtx and it runs fine on medium (which is still pretty good imho). 64 players seems to be causing a few issues on a lot of servers at the moment by I generally only go on 32 players or less and most of the time it is fine with the occasional rubberband effect.

If you have played many BF series games you should know that there are usually quite a few bugs at the beginning and then patches are released soon after and things slowly get better.

The key to having a good game is knowing that "rambo-ing in" or running down the middle of the street will get you killed extra quick. Stick to the corners and sides when attacking, stay around other players if possible to support them / be supported and just have fun :)
