| 1240680 | 2011-10-29 13:23:00 | Have you told The Cat yet? :stare: The cat walks around, spying the packed boxes and it just KNOWS sumpthin' is gonna happen . Not knowing right now is a bonus for us, as the cat cannot plan any counteractions to our pending move . Looking for a dart gun at the mo . Happy Moving Joe, :) beetle TY Beets, this is gonna be my swan song I feel - no more moves after this . All the best as well . I had touch of Montana once, when I brought a license plate of e-bay UK, then flicked it off on Trademe NZ for about 4x the price . Certainly more colorful (or colourful in NZ) plates then here in NZ, and seems to be a range of graphics than our dull NZ plates . Why various plates per state when issued? 3328 Quite a few states offer 'vanity plates' for those who can afford them, and some have alternating patterns that they randomly pass out to the next person . I don't know about Montana yet, but California I think has about a dozen plus the ones you can get with your initials or a cryptic message in Boolean or Sanscrit if the official Priscilla Goodbody censors don't catch it . Arizona has some righteously nice plates too . Damn . Around here Joe, Montana is a vineyard . I though we were gonna get a flood of discount wine when I say the title of this thread . Hope to see you're settled and posting again soon . You wanted discount wine? I lived in and all around The Temecula Wine Country for years here and nobody even mentioned that they wanted wine! Anyway - about the internet - I know nothing yet about it's availability there, although every store and fast food place has it for free to the customers, so I imagine it exists . I'm only gonna be about four miles SSE of town, so maybe they have sufficient CAT5e to reach me . I'll get it all sorted out ASAP whence I get there . Youse guys in Upsidedown Land will be amongst the first to know when I do get it up-n-running . That is a seriously long drive - it may pay to take your letterbox with you . Well, all this moving may mean we miss your action reports on the current forest fire situation in season . Will you be threatening the trout up there? Good luck with the shift, don't be like all those shiftless people . ;) Yeah --- 1200 miles and a wife who hates to drive distances . We'll be in constant CB car-to-car communication, as cell phones have great honking blank areas through the places we're gonna travel to get there . There can be 100 mile or more of ZERO cell phone activity . The SoCal fires will have to do all by themselves without me now . Did you mention trout? There are quite a few varieties of trout, salmon and Dollys too up there, although I've yet to see a Dolly Varden . I have been to Cutbank, Whitefish and Shelby in Microsoft Tran Simulator and Great Falls airport in Microsofts Flight Simulator X in Montana . :) Hmmmm . I always though Great Falls was in Wisconsin or Idaho . But I might be wrong there . 'Frostbite Falls' (Glacier Falls) is a name I associate with somewhere else (Minnesota I think) and now that I Googled Great Falls, (AHAAA!) I DO indeed see that it is in Montana . News to me . Thanks for that . , |

But the summers have 17.5 hours of daylight and fishing time is sunrise to sunset for indigenous trout - so there's that too to consider. The Northern Light are viewable in the winter and I'll be living inside a house that has a wood fireplace for it's main heat. If I want cold I can always go outside - right? Careful driving is my middle name. Besides I'll be tow barring my Amigo behind me and California has a 55 MPH speed limit on vehicles towing. Once I get out of Lotus Land then the speed limits become realistic again. |
