1265352 2012-03-16 21:20:00 Do you know if the drive is spinning up? And have you tried plugging it into another SATA port? Iantech (16386)
1265353 2012-03-16 21:57:00 Make sure you haven't overlooked a cable... 2 cables per drive.

Pull them all out and re-attach firmly.

I once had a molex (those white 4 pin sods that are often a #$%^&* to unplug) where the connectors had been displaced out the rear of the plug rather than properly 'mating' with their opposite half. Worth checking. See if you can give each of the 4 wires a shove towards the drive. If any of them feel loose or produce noise, then you've got a dodgy contact.

Try a differnt plug / cable if you have one.

Make sure your IDE ribbon goes from pin 1 to pin 1 (red strip to pin 1 on mobo and hdd).

Is the drive jumpered as Master? (IDE) Or is it sharing a cable with another drive (eg CD/DVD also on Master?)
