| 1240838 | 2011-10-30 23:40:00 | I just hope the communists dont get too many seats, if its a fine day the labor voting commies tend to vote if its wet they just lie on the couch. | prefect (6291) | ||
| 1240839 | 2011-10-31 00:36:00 | I'm taking a slightly biased view and voting for whichever party gets us the CBD rail link in Auckland (so not National). Labour's announcement on this is a win-win as it scraps an uneconomic motorway in favour of a far more beneficial public transport upgrade. | pcuser42 (130) | ||
| 1240840 | 2011-10-31 00:37:00 | I wouldnt waste too much time considering the Referendum either as its Non-Binding and some of us remember the Anti-Smacking Referendum where 87.6% of the voters voted for the legislation to be repealed but Key & Co took not a blind bit of notice. Why anyone thinks that this Referendum will change anything that the Politicians dont approve of eludes me. So to summarise, it is a pointless waste of time having Non-Binding Referendums. If the Politicians had any intention at all of listening to the People, all Referendums would be binding. ;) |

Labour's announcement on this is a win-win as it scraps an uneconomic motorway in favour of a far more beneficial public transport upgrade. The CBD rail link is an expensive waste of time and money. It will be used by around 5% of Auckland rate payers if it is build and is just Len Brown trying to build a monument to himself at our expense. I shall not vote for any party that supports it. |

| 1240844 | 2011-10-31 01:02:00 | The CBD rail link is an expensive waste of time and money. It is not. It will massively increase the capacity of Britomart and enable rail to the airport, rail to the North Shore and remove far more cars from the road than National will admit. is just Len Brown trying to build a monument to himself at our expense. Banksie supported it too. |

So to summarise, it is a pointless waste of time having Non-Binding Referendums. If the Politicians had any intention at all of listening to the People, all Referendums would be binding. ;) It might not be a binding referendum but anyone who doesn't vote on this issue must have Ostrich mentality. MMP is failing all NZers except the minor parties that shouldn't even exist like Hone's Mana party, just as FFP failed. Only 2 countries that I know of use MMP the other being Germany it if they can't make it work nobody can |
